Established in
the early 90’s, La Palmera CCC sponsors have enlisted up to 250 individuals,
families, church groups and entrust them as regular donors. The La Palmera
CCC Sponsorship program is an opportunity for Christians to help disadvantaged
people to have access to basic services in the community and to experience
Christian care in the middle of social neglect and know about the reality
of God’s love. Most people supported by La Palmera CCC are children
and young people under 18 years old. In most cases, “La Palmera”
CCC is the main provider of these community services: education, health, recreation,
Christian personal development and discipleship.
La Palmera CCC
Sponsoring Program is inspired in a simple biblical rationale found in 2
Cor.8,9.
- It completes our Christian witness. 2 Cor.8: 6,7
- It matches the Lord Jesus exemplary life. 2 Cor.8: 9
- It establishes a true sense of social equality. 2 Cor.8: 13-15
- It is a matter of generosity. 2 Cor.9: 5
- It recycles Divine blessings. 2 Cor.9: 7, 8
- It promotes an attitude of gratitude. 2 Cor.9: 11-13
- It opens the door for the Gospel of Grace in Christ Jesus! 2 Cor.9: 14, 15
Therefore,
it is a way to provide Christians with a path for Biblical obedience &
service.
La Palmera CCC Sponsorship is focused on people. It supports the Latin American
value of the extended family and community life. Although it provides individualized
care to its beneficiaries, it seeks to impact the individual’s primary
relations: family, friends and neighborhood. This focus allows La Palmera
CCC to introduce an individual child to a sponsor and to receive donations
to support the child’s community developmental services. The results
are usually more benefits for a child and more children being served as
funds facilitate “La Palmera” General Budget and empowers it
to administrate donations more sparingly and effectively as it tackles daily
activities, priorities and emergencies with great flexibility.
A sponsor may choose to support La Palmera CCC in any of the following areas:
- An urban student at La Palmera school
- A rural student at the Alpha & Omega Center (located in Rurrenabaque)
- An ethnic child at El Naranjal Center
- A student at university
- A full time Christian worker
- A building project
- An equipment project
